Last Updated: Oct 20, 2017 02:34PM CDT
A. Installing Camera by Plugging it into USB

  1. First ensure that you have gone through Steps 1-8 outlined in the Getting Started article here.

  2. Open your PC’s Device Manager by searching for “Device Manager” in the Windows Search Box, and left-clicking on the Best Match.

  1. Left-click on the “Imaging Devices” Dropdown. You will see perhaps your internal webcam and other such devices. But you will not see anything related to Intel RealSense.

  1. Plug in your Intel RealSense-based 3D camera to a USB 3.0 port. You will immediately see listings for the camera start to enumerate under device manager.  Don’t unplug the camera or do anything further. The camera drivers are installing via silent update.

NOTE: On older versions of Windows 10, you will likely see a pop-up notification in the bottom right that looks like this: But in the newest versions of Windows, you will not see any notifications and the background installation is completely silent.

  1. The Device Manager box will flash a few times, and the names of what is listed will change back and forth. Again, don’t unplug the camera or do anything further. The camera drivers are installing via silent update.

  1. After a minute or two, you will see this:

There will ultimately be 3 listings under Imaging Devices, listed as “Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 Depth” and “Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 Virtual Driver” and “Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 RGB.” If you do not see all three, which is not likely, then unplug the camera. Wait a few moments for the entries to disappear in Device Manager. Then plug the camera back in and wait a few moments.

  1. Now you are ready for Personify! Find the App Icon on your Desktop or in your Program Files, double-click, login, and voila!
